The Interfaith Chapel at University of Rochester was built in 1970 as a bold signal of the University's commitment to religious diversity. The Chapel is a unique venue for weddings, unions and other celebrations. The tower of this University landmark rises to a point 117 feet above the Genesee River and has 6,500 square feet of colored glass walls—one of the largest glass constructions of its kind in the world. The classic wood and brick Main Sanctuary inside, actually accommodates up to 500 guests, however the wooden arched seating design allows for an intimate feel whether your guest number is large or small. The specially designed contemporary teakwood pipe organ is the focal point of this simple sanctuary setting. The Chapel also features a full size screen for slides and movies, a piano, an organ, and a microphone system for business events. |
