The Food Was Hot.....

Many of you may remember me from Jazzberry’s  vegetarian restaurant at the Genesee Coop or Jazzberry’s Uptown on East Avenue. Both of these ventures allowed me to combine my two loves: food and music.

Jazzberry’s Uptown was a café that served business customers by day, an eclectic group of diners at night and seven days a week attracted people from all areas of our community to groove to the finest jazz, blues, folk and alternative music.

Our early work with community leaders laid the groundwork for the East End, now an incredibly vibrant part of this city that stretches from Eastman Theater to Alexander Street.

Our lunches pioneered wrap sandwiches 15 years before every other restaurant. Our dinner menu offered an exciting menu of ethnic fusion, seafood, beef and fish as well as our signature vegetarian dishes. And we broke the mold with Jazz Brunches that moved way beyond eggs and pancakes.
